Why A Women's Wellness Retreat is Your Key to Rediscover Yourself

Sometimes women want time to relax among other women once in a while. We need to have downtime away from the daily obligations of life. As women, we often work tirelessly to make sure everyone else’s needs are met. This means sacrificing our own needs. Now is the time to be intentional about improving our wellness by strengthening our MIND, BODY & SPIRIT, on a Wellness Journey

Our Wellness Journeys combine travel with yoga, cultural immersion, and community service projects. All of these journeys incorporate culture, nature, community service, and meeting the locals. These unique journeys and yoga retreats help you explore the world, give back to the community, and ultimately reconnect with yourself. All while enjoying delicious, healthy food. Travel is transforming. I believe in immersing in different cultures for a rich experience, not just simply a trip.

The way women travel is different from the way men do. Women like adventure travel, and to be engrossed in foreign cultures, experts say. We are attracted to community service projects, especially those abroad. Many women travel solo or exclusively with other women. More than 11 % of adult leisure travelers are women on their own, the US Travel Association says. AAA reports that 1 in 4 has joined other women on “girlfriend getaways,” bachelorette trips, or mother-daughter getaways.

The book and movie “Eat, Pray, Love,” has encouraged women to travel to rediscover themselves. This film proves that there really is more than one way to let yourself go and see the world. Liz Gilbert, played by actress Julia Roberts is a modern woman on a quest to marvel at and travel the world while rediscovering and reconnecting with her true inner self. This is exactly what women not only want but need. One of my favorite quotes from the book highlights the importance of genuine happiness. Happiness is not a one-time option, it must be continuously sought after. Be intentional about your own inner peace.

“Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it.” ― Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat, Pray, Love
